How to Treat Acne with different Medications

Acne has hundreds of medications, and it’s only some of them that works, where as others don’t. The reason being most people have different levels of acne and suffer differently. Acne occurs in a variety of ways in people. Some get light, temporary pimples for which a simple solution like benzoyl peroxide would be affective, whereas others suffer from severe, hereditary acne for which antibiotics, and birth control pills are administered. There is no stead and fast way to cure all types of acnes. The acne has to be first identified before a solution could be provided. Here we will give you a list of solutions that actually work for most common acnes, but, it is recommended that you take these with consultation from a doctor.

A Glandular Tale: Hormonal Treatment and Acne

Since it has been definitively established that increased hormonal activity leads to acne, hormonal treatment ought to control acne, right? Um…only in women, folks. I kid you not, because study after study has established that in most women, acne improves with hormonal treatment. The fact is that the majority of women suffering from acne usually try the usual acne remedies like topical lotions and cleansers. However, about 60 percent of these women either do not respond to standard acne treatments or develop resistance to medication.

To go over the basics once more, acne is caused by the actions of the male hormone androgen on oil glands that enlarge and become increasingly sensitive, producing excessive oil and leading to clogging of pores. That in turn causes white heads and blackheads, which, with the help of acne bacteria (P. Acnes), inflame to become ugly red pimples and pustules. Search Unlimited: Has Science Found a Complete Cure for Acne?

The one word answer to the headline above would be ‘no’. From all that I have read on the subject of acne, nobody has claimed that science has found a complete cure for acne. At best, it can be treated and controlled, or even reduced. But a cure still seems pretty far off. Therefore, you should be wary of individuals and products that claim a ‘complete cure’ for acne. I trusted some of these in my misguided youth, and was severely let down.

Yes, we have heard of recent research (I assume you have) that has isolated the genome sequence of the acne-causing bacteria P. Acnes, which provides some hope that a definitive treatment for acne may be discovered in future. As of now, however, most dermatologists still use a combination of treatments to control acne, depending on its severity, and then pray for it to fade away on its own like the rest of us ordinary mortals, I guess. The Terminator: Can you use Laser Therapy for Acne?

At first glance, laser therapy seems to be the perfect answer to acne. Take one of them LASER guns, blast away at the infuriating pustules, and darned well nuke them! Brilliant and permanent. In fact, it is so brilliant that it may just be too good to be true, from what I’ve read and heard.

Essentially, LASER (I keep writing this in all caps because LASER stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) therapy for acne involves the use of a ‘yellow light’ to kill the acne-causing bacteria. What this yellow light does is react to a chemical called porphorine found in the bacteria to produce oxygen, which destroys the critters. Best of all, LASER therapy helps produce collagen, which prevents scarring from acute acne. Read more on The Terminator: Can you use Laser Therapy for Acne?…

Acne Treatment

When different products for a successful acne treatment are researched, one finds there are many.  When available products for a natural acne treatment are researched, however, fewer are found from which to choose.  One reason for this is that a natural acne treatment requires the painstaking task of holistically balancing a formulation, in contrast to the acne treatment formulations of non-holistic pharmaceutical products.  SkinB5 is proud of its acne treatment products; all natural, all nourishing, all holistically balanced.  Should you decide on a natural acne treatment that is effective, but also holistically sound, we believe you will choose SkinB5.

How is Dry Skin related to Acne?

If you thought only people with oily skin get acne, you are one among several million people who do so. However, the sad truth is that those with dry skin get acne too, though the attacks are relatively rare. I have lost count of the number of acne sufferers I have met who seem to think that just because there is a link between excess oil and acne, they should keep their skin as dry as possible.

The case that springs most readily to mind is that of Ramona, the girlfriend of one of my closest friends, who used to obsessively wash her face because she imagined that it would make her acne better. As night follows day, however, not only did her acne NOT get better, it actually got worse. By the time she managed to dump her obsession, Ramona had acquired pustules that have left permanent scars, though she no longer has acne. Read more on How is Dry Skin related to Acne?…
